Cops 4 Cops

COPS 4 COPS Program is a non-profit organization developed to provide New York State Fraternal Order of Police (FOP) both active or retired members with an objective and non-judgmental resource in which they can turn to for advice and assistance to work out their personal or work related problems. Assistance services are also available to their immediate family members as well.  Cops 4 Cops is a voluntary confidential assistance program that remains separate from any law enforcement agency providing an array of services to include assessment and referrals to appropriate resources, peer support and crisis management 24 hours a day 7 days a week.  No officer/member who sincerely seeks assistance with any problem will be turned away regardless of the nature or magnitude of their problem. In fact, a major goal of the program is to help the officer/member learn to handle his or her problems before they may lose their jobs, their family, or both.

They maintain direct contact helping to mold and modify program needs to best suit each individual's needs, thereby ensuring program efficiency.

In coordination with the staff is a specific local, state and national network system composed of credentialed counselors, including psychiatrists, psychologists, licensed social workers, board certified alcoholism/substance abuse counselors, physicians, clergy members, attorneys, and financial management consultants, to name a few.

Cops 4 Cops uses trained volunteer peer support officers/members both retired and active to provide confidential peer support and referrals when appropriate identified from various departments throughout New York State.  In addition, the program has also identified specialized treatment resources for both inpatient and outpatient mental health services meeting the specific needs of law enforcement officers/members and their families.
